Make sure to take some time out to see the outdoor sculpture, Eggin í Gleðivík, by the internationally known artist Sigurður Guðmundsson. The sculpture consists of 34 eggs, each representing a local bird species. The eggs are all similar size, with one exception and that is the egg that belongs to the red-throated diver. That egg is significantly larger as the red-throated diver is the official bird of Djúpivogur. The sculpture is easily accessed and is located in Gleðivík about 1 km from the village centre.
